N.Murray Construction Limited
We are a family company with over 38 years’ experience in the building industry; having started in the Isle of Man, we relocated to North West England in 2015.
We are experienced in all aspects of building and construction but we have a particular interest in the traditional methods of brickwork and stonework which is why we specialise in projects involving older buildings.
Whilst based in the Isle of Man, we undertook complex barn conversions and also worked on properties for the Manx National Heritage.
Castle Rushen was one such project that we completed in 2012 and it involved replacing the existing slate roofing with a traditional lead roof. The project was a fantastic opportunity for anyone interested in working with traditional materials including lime mortar, limestone, and sandstone.
Recent ‘specialist’ projects have included the rebuilding of an 18th century coach house in Shaw near Oldham (using reclaimed materials from the original building) and the repointing of grade 2 listed buildings using hydraulic lime.
We take great care and enormous pride in all that we undertake and we have spent considerable time tracking down the finest craftsmen and sourcing the very best materials. We love to create, renovate and preserve beautiful buildings.

"You have to have a great deal of experience to work on older buildings; they're hard and solid and totally uncompromising."

"There are many beautiful buildings out there and I'm glad to say, we have worked on some of them."
